Magic Kingdom...
One for the Wife. Not the happiest with the outcome but I did learn that I can exclude some things if I want to from the source. I tried to include too much and it would have been better with an omision here and there.

Mount Doom....

Happy X-Mas...
I love Christmas and this was so much fun to do. Maybe not my best, technically speaking, but it doesn't matter It is staying in the family for Christmas!
Gandalf Lights the Way...
Something for LOTR fans. I used almost no black in this painting, just some highlights in the rock.
Dawn After the Storm...
I saw a Kevin Hill painting I liked and tried to recreate it. I went with a different color scheme, not a big fan of Pastels. Anyway I love this one and though I really wanted to paint a blue sky it was just to good to resist.
Stream Deep In the Woods...
I tried combining three different elements I saw Bob Ross do. Some worked some worked a little less. I love the green. I am drawn to powerful colors. This was a lot of fun.

Contemplative Lady...
This was interesting, I saw Bob Ross recycle a painting by blurring the already painted background. then I saw a photo very similar to this on a friends Facebook wall and I just felt compelled to paint it.
Claude Monet Study...
I recreated a Monet painting trying to use the same style. This painting was HARD. I could not even tell you how many brushstrokes that are in this painting. Each bit of paint was put on by just a tap of the brush. Not my favorite but perhaps the one I am most proud of completing.
Spooky Night...
I wanted to do a Halloween Picture. This was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the results.
Cool Mountains...
Another black and white. I did not use alot of the color black instead blended reds and blues to creates the darker color. Overall, I like the effect and the end result.
Fantasy by the Sea...

I was playing a game called "Dishonored" and I say a painting on the wall that looked like this. I paused the game and took a picture and recreated it.
Stormy Beach...
I intended to paint a soft beach scene but the colors exploded and the waves got out of control. It is a prime example of your mood effecting your painting. As bright as some of the elements are there are equally subtle things going on, Again, it doesn't show up that great in a picture.
Enchanted Forrest...
Oil on Panel over Acrylic. Another painting that was "gone" before I cleaned my brushes. I did not sell it but gave it as a gift.

Dawn over Endor...
Star Wars, a challenging sky trying out a new technique. Really like the results.
Midnight...
I am colorblind, After my first Batman painting I realized I liked painting in black and white and I did not have to struggle with colors. Or hope what I was putting on canvas was the color I intended. This was a fun unique experience. I saw Bob Ross do a two color painting and I took the inspiration.
Batman on Fire...
My second Batman painting, people either loved it or hated it. Either way someone has it and I hope they enjoy it.
The Dark Knight cityscape...
Another painting inspired by Jarduli watch his version HERE. He did not have Batman in his version. I saw his painting and thought I have to paint that and it NEEDS Batman. Sold On Ebay.
Vader is Watching...
My first portrait, its Darth Vader. Like most paintings it looks better in person. There is depth that does not come through in a photo.
Running Horse...
Painted for My horse loving daughter. My first animal. The background was done almost completely in palette knife. I also used a a new brush I had never really utilized on this painting. It is the oldest designed painting tool in history, my finger.
Serene Vally
Commissioned work, I just adored this painting and I was so happy that the owner was pleased. There was another I painted for her but I cannot find the picture I took. It was "Spring Brooke".
Enterprise...
My first true mixed media, my first non-landscape. There is as much acrylic as oil on this canvas. I was very happy with this and it sold before I could clean my brushes.
Disney Landscape...

For Beth...
A request for my friend Beth, she didn't tell me what she wanted but I tried to give her something that made me think of her.
Happy...
This one took a few months to complete. Its very playful and made me smile every time I looked at it. Loved the sky and the little girl with the balloon was inspired by a picture of my daughter on her second birthday. My niece now has this in Texas.
Dr huh?
I was just practicing on this canvas, in fact I put the mountain range down 5 or six times. at the last minute I thought it would be a blast to put the TARDIS in the picture. This turned it to a painting I was going to discard to one my children won't let me throw away.

Serene Reflections...
This was a challenge and it was extremely aggravating. Nothing seemed to want to work but I was very happy with the outcome.
A Little Wierd...
I wanted to do a different take on water in this, I am really proud of the colors and the shadows in thisthe scale and distance is very good. True people either love or hate this one. Doesn't matter though; the canvas has a tear in it and I will probably discard it in the future.

My first attempt at something different, I really wanted to do something to stretch myself and this was the result. I have to admit I was very happy with this and I teared up when I finished. I made a second one that is very similar to this one and it was sold at auction but this one is hanging in my living-room.

Tropical Sunrise...
I wanted to do something exotic but not surreal. Papa Gene said he loved the colors but he found it unsettling...It reminded him of Vietnam. Mission accomplished?
Front Door Sunset...
This painting like a few others no longer exists, I just happen to have a picture of it. A few others I do not.
Mountain Lake
Never quite happy with the mountains a little sharp. Several aspects of this painting I love. The color, space and it feels so cool and refreshing.
Omage to Gilligan's Island
. Watching Gilligan's Island I happened to pause on this cut scene, I took a Photo and painted my first beach scene.

A study in Trees...
I watched Bob Ross 3 hour instructional video. He emphasized practicing specific elements. I decided to do trees and take a break from Mountains. I took elements from a few different paintings and combined them in what I thought was an interesting layout. I did not receive a lot of positive feedback on this one but it was my favorite that I had done to this point. It was my second one sold.
Painting for Mom...

Mom sent me a picture of a barn in Montana. I gave it a shot and was less than satisfied by my first building and the mountains,
Painting for my Grandmother...
My next painting I did for my Grandmother.I felt this sky was really interesting even though the trees and bushes look like they are floating and the mountains are razor sharp.
My Second Painting...
My second painting was also the first one I sold. It was sold a t a garage sale for a pathetic amount of money, but a sale is a sale. I tried something very ambitious and it didn't work the way I wanted. I learned a truth about painting; if you force something it makes things difficult on you.
My First Painting...
I spent years non participating in art in any way, sure I took lots of picture but I never really felt I was creating anything. I was up early one day in August 2013. and wandered across The Joy of Painting on PBS. It had been years since I watched Bob Ross ply his craft. I used to watch it all the time; and I dreamed of painting along with him. I recorded the show to show my daughters something I loved when I was their age. While I was watching the show with them I explained this to them, and Lily asked. "why don't you try now?" I tried to think of a dozen reason why but I could not think of anything other than I can't. I bought the supplies and made the commitment to do it.
This painting is a reproduction of a Bob Ross painting, I followed along with a tape of the show. I was very happy with my first effort. Keep in mind, I had NEVER painted before.
I look at it now and I see flaws of technicality but I still feel the joy every time I look at it.
My wife loved it and it proudly displayed on my wall.
