Love Sci-Fi and the trek. I really went for something wild for this space scene. I had a video but it was an epic fail. I may consider putting it up in the future.
One of my first paintings was this one Click HERE I loved the sky but hated the trees and the foreground. As I was staring at it in a pile the other day I decided I could do something about it and this is the end result. Bellow is a side by side comparison.
Oil on canvas 16x20 This is a reproduction of my Autumn River painting, only set in the winter. Inspired by Jarduli. You can watch me paint it by clicking HERE. or you can follow the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTeJvuYb2JI
Oil on canvas 16x20 One for the Wife. Not the happiest with the outcome but I did learn that I can exclude some things if I want to from the source. I tried to include too much and it would have been better with an omision here and there.
Oil on canvas 16x20 Another Lord of the Rings tribute. What can I say I am a bog fan. everyone who understood what this is loved it. Every one else, well they don't matter
Oil over acrylic on canvas 16x20 I love Christmas and this was so much fun to do. Maybe not my best, technically speaking, but it doesn't matter It is staying in the family for Christmas!
Oil on Canvas 16x20 I saw a Kevin Hill painting I liked and tried to recreate it. I went with a different color scheme, not a big fan of Pastels. Anyway I love this one and though I really wanted to paint a blue sky it was just to good to resist.
Oil over Acrylic on Canvas 16x20 I tried combining three different elements I saw Bob Ross do. Some worked some worked a little less. I love the green. I am drawn to powerful colors. This was a lot of fun.
Oil on Panel 10x12 This was interesting, I saw Bob Ross recycle a painting by blurring the already painted background. then I saw a photo very similar to this on a friends Facebook wall and I just felt compelled to paint it.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 I recreated a Monet painting trying to use the same style. This painting was HARD. I could not even tell you how many brushstrokes that are in this painting. Each bit of paint was put on by just a tap of the brush. Not my favorite but perhaps the one I am most proud of completing.
Oil on canvas 16x20 Another black and white. I did not use alot of the color black instead blended reds and blues to creates the darker color. Overall, I like the effect and the end result.
I was playing a game called "Dishonored" and I say a painting on the wall that looked like this. I paused the game and took a picture and recreated it.
Oil on canvas over acrylic 16x20 I intended to paint a soft beach scene but the colors exploded and the waves got out of control. It is a prime example of your mood effecting your painting. As bright as some of the elements are there are equally subtle things going on, Again, it doesn't show up that great in a picture.
Oil on Panel 16x20 I am colorblind, After my first Batman painting I realized I liked painting in black and white and I did not have to struggle with colors. Or hope what I was putting on canvas was the color I intended. This was a fun unique experience. I saw Bob Ross do a two color painting and I took the inspiration.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 Another painting inspired by Jarduli watch his version HERE. He did not have Batman in his version. I saw his painting and thought I have to paint that and it NEEDS Batman. Sold On Ebay.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 My first portrait, its Darth Vader. Like most paintings it looks better in person. There is depth that does not come through in a photo.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 Painted for My horse loving daughter. My first animal. The background was done almost completely in palette knife. I also used a a new brush I had never really utilized on this painting. It is the oldest designed painting tool in history, my finger.
Oil on Canvas 10x12 Commissioned work, I just adored this painting and I was so happy that the owner was pleased. There was another I painted for her but I cannot find the picture I took. It was "Spring Brooke".
Oil & Acrylic 16x20 My first true mixed media, my first non-landscape. There is as much acrylic as oil on this canvas. I was very happy with this and it sold before I could clean my brushes.
Oil on canvas 6x8 This one took a few months to complete. Its very playful and made me smile every time I looked at it. Loved the sky and the little girl with the balloon was inspired by a picture of my daughter on her second birthday. My niece now has this in Texas.
Oil over Acrylic 16x20 I was just practicing on this canvas, in fact I put the mountain range down 5 or six times. at the last minute I thought it would be a blast to put the TARDIS in the picture. This turned it to a painting I was going to discard to one my children won't let me throw away.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one and I was so happy that it sold. Some hatted the red but I loved it. It is another copy of a Jarduli painting. You can watch him painting his HERE.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 I wanted to do a different take on water in this, I am really proud of the colors and the shadows in thisthe scale and distance is very good. True people either love or hate this one. Doesn't matter though; the canvas has a tear in it and I will probably discard it in the future.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 I copied a painting done by a great painter Jarduli, you can watch him paint it HERE. My daughter really likes this one and wanted it for here room. So she gets it even though I could have sold it. Look for the little man.
I did a series of paintings on cherry blossoms different sizes and on both panels and canvas none bigger than 10x12. Some are in my bedroom, some are at the wife's work and I think a few others are in the possession of friends and family I don't have pictures of them all but these two.
Oil and Acrylic on Canvas 16x20 My first attempt at something different, I really wanted to do something to stretch myself and this was the result. I have to admit I was very happy with this and I teared up when I finished. I made a second one that is very similar to this one and it was sold at auction but this one is hanging in my living-room.
Oil on Canvas 16x20 I wanted to do something exotic but not surreal. Papa Gene said he loved the colors but he found it unsettling...It reminded him of Vietnam. Mission accomplished?
Oil and Canvas 16x20 Never quite happy with the mountains a little sharp. Several aspects of this painting I love. The color, space and it feels so cool and refreshing.
Oil on Canvas 16x22 I watched Bob Ross 3 hour instructional video. He emphasized practicing specific elements. I decided to do trees and take a break from Mountains. I took elements from a few different paintings and combined them in what I thought was an interesting layout. I did not receive a lot of positive feedback on this one but it was my favorite that I had done to this point. It was my second one sold.
